Stakeholder management as a predictor of CEO compensation: Main effects and interactions with financial performance

Article Abstract:

The effects of stakeholder management on CEO's salaries, bonuses, stock options and total compensation are tested and the extent, to which the interaction of stakeholder management and financial performance determines compensation, is examined. The results indicate that CEOs may jeopardize their personal wealth by pursuing stakeholder-related initiatives.

Alliance portfolios and firm performance: a study of value creation and appropriation in the U.S. software industry

An analysis of a dataset of 367 software firms and their alliances implies that the role of network resources to value creation differs with the complementarity of those resources. The comparative bargaining power or partners in the alliance portfolio limits the firm's appropriation capacity.
