Study on additives & preservative markets

Article Abstract:

US consumers, particularly Baby Boomers, are demanding robustly seasoned food, according to a study by San Jose, CA-based Frost and Sullivan Inc. Titled 'U.S. Food Additive and Preservative Markets,' the research reveals the industry generated revenue of over $3 billion in 1999, with revenue predicted to reach $5 billion by 2006. Dr Bradley Watkins said Baby Boomers are also looking for healthy cuisine as they age. Increasing concerns about synthetic chemicals in food is affecting the market.
