Lincat produces catering equipment and its performance has been affected by Colbrook, a subsidiary involved in food display systems which may be sold or closed down. IMC has performed well due partly to singe contracts. Lincat should benefit from focusing on an activity linked to a late stage in the business cycle and growth rates of 6% to 7% are forecast for the UK catering industry. The company's profit is forecast at 3.4 million pounds sterling prior to exceptionals by Beeson Gregory for 1996 to 1997.
