Automatic dialing telecomputers are a subject that is being debated hotly in the telemarketing industry. Automatic dialing telecomputers dial a series of numbers and play a pre-recorded message. Positions have been taken on both sides of the issue. As an editorial position, the publisher feels that there are times when such systems are justified. They can be used to make announcements about products, for example, defective products. As sales solicitation devices, their use does not justify the effect on the customer base.
