Article Abstract:

Proper equipment, including headsets, are essential for effective telemarketing. Studies indicated that certain comfort levels are required for increased productivity. When evaluating equipment for telemarketing operators, users should take into consideration the receivers, microphone, headset connectors, volume control and noise cancelling features. Photographs and product descriptions are provided. Six major suppliers are listed, including general descriptions of products available.

The Expanded Role of the Telephone Headset

Lightweight telephone headsets are an indispensable tool for telemarketing professionals. Now, such headsets are being used for customer service representatives as well. Even in high technology companies, engineers and customer support groups are using headsets to help speed customer inquiries. Hewlett-Packard has created Response Centers to help in customer service and relations. The new headsets allow for greater mobility and fight phone fatigue.

New Developments in Headset Design Improve Efficiency

Article Abstract:

A microphone and an earphone make up a telephone headset. New, light weight communications headsets are comfortable to wear and the listening quality is critical with the binuarally increased sound pressure level input. The automatic gain control reduces fatigue by amplifying weak signals and by reducing high sound levels.
