The cost of learning's pressure on earnings

Article Abstract:

Sending their children to private schools can be a big strain on an average British family's finances. A typical private day school charges an annual fee of 3,600 pounds sterling while boarding school fees average about 7,200 pounds a year. Parents of a university student may have to spend 3,600 pounds yearly. Since the early 1980s, fees in private schools have been increasing by an average of 10% every year. It is possible for the rate of school fee increases to surpass even the growth in average earnings. Early planning can help those grappling with the problem of financing private education. There are two main types of school fee plans: funding from capital and funding from income. Many parents have found itnecessary to combine these strategies. Other possible sources of funding are relatives, investment trust savings schemes, Tessas and other friendly societies.
