The great Dane

Article Abstract:

Danish furniture designer Nanna Ditzel believes that innovation in industrial design hardly ever comes with large units. In contrast, small units can bring experimental, progressive development. She is very attracted to things that fly, and flight was the inspiration for her Butterfly chair, which is strong but flexible, adjusting to the weight of its user. She uses a computer in her work, but feels more confident when she sees a three-dimensional model in the workshop.
