The impact of recession on the prediction of corporate failure

Article Abstract:

It is known that a recession can play a major factor in the failure of a business venture. Accounting-based prediction models, used to evaluate corporate success or failure, must take into account the influence of business cycles. Models are effective even when the variables used to predict failure were generated during a recession, or when a business actually failed during a recession.
