The life cycle of alternative agricultural research

Article Abstract:

Augmenting of alternative agricultural research (AAR) is required for making more equitable distribution of goods to promote social dynamics and the whole process of supplying food, its social relevance and creating a strong public and political base. AAR can be intensified by making it more acceptable and better utilized by including in it social sciences and extending its scope to entire food system. Technology should be planned for more social and environmental benefit for mankind. Alternative agriculture can distinctly provide better future for humanity.

Factors in organic farmers' decisionmaking: diversity, challenge, and obstacles

Article Abstract:

Operational diversity, on-farm changes and lack of technical education create a significant impact on organic farming in the US. Data gathered from a twofold survey involving Colorado farmers revealed that agricultural decisions are basically anchored on consumer preference changes and local farming conditions. Although these farmers have a stable financial outlook, their operations are sometimes hindered by inadequacy of agricultural information and unpredictable markets.
