The need for speed in stochastic simulation

Article Abstract:

Cellular biochemical systems have an important stochastic (random) component that affects cells at the phenotypic level. A quantitative study of cellular processes with significant random elements helped enabled mainly by stochastic simulation that accounts for random biochemical events and their consequences.

The UK Advertising Standards Authorities (ASA) launched an investigation into the truthfulness of Monsanto's ads which claims that the biotechnology company has been testing genetically modified foods for 20 years. Complainants say that Monsanto has only been testing GM foods for the last 16 years.
