UK IAH slammed in sheep brain row
Article Abstract:
The Institute for Animal Health has been accused by the UK Accreditation Service for lacking a formal system to check records concerning a recent experiment. This experiment related to discovering whether bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) had infected the entire United Kingdom sheep flock. According to an official investigation by Risk Solutions, poor labeling of specimens is the probable cause of confusion in the experiment, where scientists tested cow brains for BSE, thinking they were testing sheep brains.
