US acquisition boost

Article Abstract:

Planit , which was previously called British Thornton, has moved from packaging to design software geared to the retail industry. Planit has acquired Cabinet Vision, a US software company, and the acquisition's back-office software can be linked to Planit's software. Set up in 1983, the company supplies software to Jewson, Ikea and MFI, and other retailers. The company's profit is forecast at 1.8 million pounds sterling for 1998.
