Ultra Electronics: a good catch

Ultra Electronics has carried out a share placing raising 75 million pounds sterling. Six of the company's directors will receive 7.8 million pounds through a share buyback. The group forecasts a profit of 14.5 million pounds sterling for 1996. Ultra Electronics is a relatively small company in the defense industry but has specialized in niche markets. The company depends on direct orders from the UK Ministry of Defence for some 30% of sales. Overseas sales should increase with the acquisition of companies in Canada and the US.
