Using the Internet - to get the word to the troops

Article Abstract:

Military intelligence has traditionally been relayed only to flag officers. This leaves lower-ranking officers who do not attend such briefings less informed. However, the concept of maneuver warfare doctrine has emerged that allows and encourages lower-ranking decision makers to exercise individual judgement in adapting to fluid situations unanticipated in the original battle plan. The Internet has emerged as a unique intelligence source to provide military decision makers not privy to all clasified briefings with sufficient day-to-day data while maintaining the security of classified material.
