JSF production on track

Article Abstract:

John Kent, spokesman for the program at Lockheed Martin Corp. reported that the production of the first variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) is in progress and going well, with final assembly of the first aircraft on track. Department of DefenseEs (DOD) Defense Acquisition Board (DAB) will conduct its next review of the JSF program in March 2004.

JSF engine passes 4,000 test hours

Article Abstract:

The F135 engine, produced by Pratt & Whitney for Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), has completed more than 4,000 ground test hours under the system development and demonstration (SDD) contract. The 4,000 test hours completed under its SDD contract include the testing of the F135 for conventional-takeoff-and-landing (CTOL) as well as for other JSF variants.
