Diversity training in the workplace today: a status report
Article Abstract:
The emergence of multiculturalism in the workplace has resulted to diversity training or the incorporation of demographic concepts in human resource training and management in corporate America. According to human resource practitioners, it has become a top priority among companies. They also foresee the continuation and expansion of diversity training efforts. However, the lukewarm reception to affirmative action and equal employment opportunities among various organizations and agencies remains a challenge to diversity training advocates.

Article Abstract:
Results of the survey conducted by the National Assn of Colleges and Employers in 1975 showed that only 26% of respondents said their office provided certain experiential education programs. However, 22 years later, the typical office provides such programs, with almost 75% of respondents reporting this service. Staff size has also been observe to increase over the past four years. Currently, only 3.3% reported that the director represented the office's entire staff.
