A photoelectrochemical device with a nanostructured SnO2 electrode modified with composite clusters of porphyrin-modified silica nanoparticle and fullerene

Article Abstract:

A silica nanoparticle was successfully constructed as a nanoscaffold to self-organize porphyrin and C60 molecules on a nanostructured SnO2 electrode. The quenching of the porphyrin excited singlet state on the silica nanoparticle was suppressed significantly, demonstrating that silica nanoparticles are promising scaffolds for organizing photoactive molecules three-dimensionally in nanometer scale and marked enhancement of the photocurrent generation was achieved.

Supramolecular photovoltaic cells based on composite molecular nanoclusters: Dendritic porphyrin and C60, porphyrindimer and C60, and porphyrin-C60 Dyad

Article Abstract:

Using molecular clusters of porphyrin dendrimer and fullerene dye units assembled on SnO2 electrodes, novel organic solar cells are detailed. It is observed that the comparison of photoelectrochemical properties show that the composite clusters of V-shaped porphyrin dimer and porphyrin dendrimers with fullerene exhibit remarkable enhancement in the photoelectrochemical performance as well as broader photoresponse in the visible and near infrared regions.

Novel photocatalytic function of porphyrin-modified nanoclusters in comparison with the reference porphyrin

Article Abstract:

Photocatalytic function of three-dimensional porphyrin monolayer-protected gold clusters (MPCs) has been examined. It is reported that the light-harvesting efficiency of PMCs is better than the reference compound.
