Adsorption of carbon tetrachloride on graphitized thermal carbon black and in slit graphitic pores: Five-site versus one-site potential models

Article Abstract:

An investigation was carried out about the performance of intermolecular potential models on the adsorption of carbon tetrachloride on graphitized thermal carbon black at various temperatures. It was found that the surface mediation is important, and the fluid-fluid interaction among molecules in the first layer close to the surface must be reduced by 4 percent.

Evaluation of 1-site and 5-site models of methane on its adsorption on graphite and in graphite slit pores

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the 1- and 5-site models of methane on the description of adsorption on graphite surfaces and in graphite slit pores. The study covers a range of temperatures to examine the effect of sub critical and supercritical conditions, and a range of pressures to study the compression effect.

Modeling of adsorption on nongraphitized carbon surface: GCMC simulation studies and comparison with experimental data

Article Abstract:

Nongraphitized carbon black surfaces were modeled and adsorption of argon on these surfaces was investigated by the grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation. It is shown that the adsorption isotherm shows a steplike behavior on a perfect graphite surface and becomes smoother on nongraphitized surfaces.
