Bts under scrutiny
Article Abstract:
Dealerships and growers using Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) technology have to be on their best behavior in the 2001 season in planting and spraying for insects since registrations for Bt corn and cotton expire and are up for renewal in Sep 2001. Adherence to the refuge requirements will be a major factor in EPA's final decision. A pulled registration would especially impact cotton groweres, who plant around 60% of their acres with Bt seed.
