Changing morphology of BaO/Al2O3 during NO2 uptake and release
Article Abstract:
The changes in the morphology of Ba-oxide based NO(sub x) storage/reduction catalysts were investigated using time-resolved X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and energy dispersed spectroscopy. The results obtained clearly demonstrate the dynamic nature of the Ba-containing phases that are active in the NO(sub x) storage/reduction process.

A kinetic study of NO oxidation and NO(sub x) storage on Pt/BaO/Al2O3
Article Abstract:
A kinetic model for NO(sub x) storage on Pt/BaO/Al2O3 and NO oxidation is presented. It was found that the kinetic model could not accurately describe the increased release of NO(sub x) when Pt was present and hence, the mechanism was modified to include a reversible surface spillover step of NO2 between Pt sites and BaO sites.

A kinetic study of oxygen adsorption/desorption and NO oxidation over Pt/AI2O3 catalysts
Article Abstract:
Experiments carried out check the validity of a kinetic mean field model of nitrogen oxides oxidation to NO2 over a Pt/AI2O3 catalyst at temperatures of 250-450 degrees centigrade were found to be successful.
