Comparison of the converge of the linear CO species on Cu/Al2O3 measured under adsorption equilibrium conditions by using FTIR mass spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The procedure applied for the L species on Pt/Al2O3 is used to prove that there is a linear relationship between the IR band of the L species absorbed on reduced 4.7%Cu/Al2O3 solid and its amount on the surface. The conclusion confirms that quantitative exploitations of the FTIR spectra recorded after adsorption of CO can be reasonably reformed at least under adsorption equilibrium.

Impact of the residual chlorine on the heat adsorption of the linear CO species on Cu/Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) catalysts

Article Abstract:

A study of the adsorption of CO at several adsorption temperatures in the range of 300-500K on several reduced ~5 wt % Cu/Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) solids, with and without residual chlorine, is conducted by FTIR spectroscopy. The results show that the presence of residual Cl has no impact on the heat of adsorption at low coverages (82 kJ/mol), while it decreases slightly te4 heat of adsorption at high coverages from 57 to 45 kJ/mol.
