Conformational selectivity of peptides for single-walled carbon nanotubes

Article Abstract:

The sequence and conformational requirements of peptides for high high-affinity binding to single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are described. The results have shown the existence of multiple conformations for nanotube-binding peptides, suggesting that the phages are selective toward their respective targets not only by sequence discrimination but also by conformational discrimination.

pH-dependent stability of decalysine alpha-helix studied by explicit-solvent molecular dynamics simulations at constant pH

Article Abstract:

Polyfunctional compounds were tested using the acidostat method that was developed for performing explicit-solvent molecular dynamics simulations at constant pH. The titration behavior of 1,4-diaminobutane was investigated by performing a series of simulations at different pH.

Mechanism of supported membrane disruption by antimicrobial peptide protegrin-1

Article Abstract:

The dynamics of membrane disruption by antimicrobial peptide protegrin-1 (PG-1) on dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-phosphocholine-supported bilayer patches obtained through atomic force microscopy is reported. The action of PG-1 is found to be concentration-dependent.
