Conformational transition pathway of polymerase beta/DNA upon binding correct incoming substrate

Article Abstract:

The closing conformational transition of wild-type polymerase beta bound to DNA template/primer before the chemical step is simulated using the stochastic difference equation algorithm that approximates long-time dynamics. This study compliments experimental observations by providing detailed atomistic views of the intermediates along the polymerase closing pathway and by suggesting additional key residues that regulate events prior to or during the chemical reaction.

Fluorescence spectroscopic studies of solvent- and temperature-induced conformational transition in segmented poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethyhexyl)oxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEHPPV)

Article Abstract:

Segmented poly [2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethyhexyl)oxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEHPPV) represents unique polymeric systems in which a large number of chromophores of different molecular conjugation lengths are strung together in a single polymer chain. Fluorescence spectral variation as a function of temperature reveals an interesting inverted S-shaped variation in the emission yield with increasing nonsolvent composition.

Enhanced conjugated polymer fluorescence quenching by dipyridinium-based quenchers in the presence of surfactant

Article Abstract:

Poly[(2-methoxy-5-propyloxysulfonate)phenylene vinylene] was synthesized directly from its bischloromethylated monomer, which reduced the total number of steps involved in the polymer preparation. The interactions among the polymer, surfactant, and quencher molecules, and also the amplified fluorescence quenching and fluorescence enhancement associated with the interactions, were investigated.
