Detection of DNA hybridization by gold nanoparticle enhanced transmission surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

Demonstrating an inexpensive, efficient, straightforward and highly sensitive method of detecting DNA hybridization provides a viable approach to the construction of molecular recognition based sensors. The method is based upon marked enhancement of the shift of the transmission surface plasmon resonance (T-SPR) absorption band of gold nanoislands, deposited onto a glass-stranded DNA is hybridized by its complementary DNA that is fictionalized by gold nanoparticles.

Electronic dephasing in bimetallic gold-silver nanoparticles examined by single particle spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The scattering spectra of a single gold, silver, and bimetallic gold-silver particles (both core-shell and alloyed) was examined using dark-field microscopy. The results show that the plasmon resonances for the bimetallic particles are broader than those of the pure silver or pure gold particles.

A model for DNA detection by metal-enhanced fluorescence from immobilized silver nanoparticles on solid substrate

Article Abstract:

N-(2-Mercaptopropionyl)gycine (tiopronin)-coated silver nanoparticles (average diameter of metal core=5 nm) were prepared by a modified Brust method. It is found that increasing the particular layer contributes to florescence enhancement.
