Development of a generalized Born model parametrization for proteins and nucleic acids
Article Abstract:
The parameterization of the generalized Born model, derived by Still et al, for proteins, peptides and nucleic acids within various force fields is discussed. A database of atomic electrostatic environments and molecular electrostatic solvation free energies is developed while a finite difference solution to the Poisson-Boltzmann equation is determined. It is shown that the model accurately reproduces molecular solvation trends.
