Dow acquires Cargill Hybrid Seeds

Article Abstract:

Mycogen Seeds, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical, has acquired Cargill Hybrid Seeds. The merger of both companies will create the US' third-largest seed company, which will be affiliated with Dow AgroSciences. Cargill VP Fritz Corrigan said they are pleased to have found a good home for the company. Cargill will leverage Dow AgroSciences' broad range of biotechnology and crop protection capabilities with the former's product and distribution network.

AGCO buys Ag-Chem

Article Abstract:

AGCO Corp has purchased application equipment giant Ag-Chem Equipment Co Inc for about $250 million. The acquisition is expected to solidify AGCO's position in the self-propelled applicator equipment and crop management markets. The relationship of the two companies will expand and strengthen Ag-Chem's ability to compete worldwide due to AGCO's record in products and service support which is a pivotal consideration in choosing an international partner.
