Large scale CVD synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotubes
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of bulk quantities of high quality single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) was performed using the methane chemical vapor deposition approach. The highest yield of SWNTs was obtained with an Fe/Mo bimetallic catalyst supported on a new Al2O3-SiO2 hybrid material. It is also shown that the yield, purity and quality of the nanotubes are influenced by the active metal catalytic species, resistance of the catalyst to sintering, metal-support interactions and the chemical and physical nature of the support.

Reaction of H2 and H2S with CoMoO4 and NiMoO4: TPR, XANES, time-resolved SRC, and molecular-orbital studies
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the reaction of a series of nickel and cobalt molybdates toward H2 and H2S. The methodologies used included temperature programmed reduction synchrotron-based X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy and ab initio self-consistent-field calculations. Results suggest that the reduced AMoO4 compounds can be regenerated by reaction with O2 at high temperatures.
