Effect of polydisperity on the phase diagrams of linear ABC triblock copolymers in two dimensions

Article Abstract:

Two-dimensional (2D) real-space self-consistent field theory is used to present the phase diagrams of monodisperse ABC triblock copolymers in a three-component triangle style with the interaction energies given between the distinct block. The presence of polydisperse end block might cause strong segregation to occur among the three distinct components and larger domain sizes of the dispersed phases, whereas a polydisperse middle block may allow a connection to form between the two phases of the two end block.

Microstructures from a mixture of ABC 3-miktoarm star terpolymers and homopolymers in two-dimensional space

Article Abstract:

The microstructures of the mixture of ABC 3-miktoarm star terpolymer and linear homopolymers are investigated using self-consistent mean-field theory (SCFT) in a 2D real-space. It was observed that the microstructures rely on the chain length and volume fraction of the linear homopolymer, and that despite varying linear homopolymer lengths, all the mixtures finally converge to the core/shell pattern after the sum of blocks and homopolymer constitutes the majority.

Cornucopian cylindrical aggregate morphologies from self-assembly of amphiphilic triblock copolymer in selective media

Article Abstract:

A study to investigate the aggregation of ABA amphiphlic triblock copolymers in dilute solution was conducted by both experimental and theoretical. The results from the real-space self-consistent field theory revealed that the formation of network and toroidal structures from block copolymers occurs as a result of breaking of 'inhomogeneous vesicles'.
