Effective charges of polyelectrolytes in a salt-free solution based on counterion chemical potential

Article Abstract:

A study on the phenomenon of counterion condensation around a flexible polyelectrolyte chain with N monomers by Monte Carlo (MC) simulations in terms of the degree of ionization alpha proportional to the effective charge was conducted. The study revealed the degree of ionization declines with the increasing polymer fractal dimension that can be tuned by varying bending modulus and solvent quality.

A-B diblock copolymer micelles: Effects of soluble-block length and component compatibility

Article Abstract:

The study report on the micellization of a diblock copolymer in dilute solution explored by dissipative particle dynamics is presented. Results reveal that weight-average aggregation number of micelles reduces with increasing the soluble-block length.
