Efficient catalytic plasma activation of CO2, NO, and H2O

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to characterize the decomposition of carbon dioxide, nitric oxide and water in an ac glow discharge plasma at atmospheric pressure. The impact of flow rate, input voltage, diluent gas and metal coating of the electrode on transformations were also analyzed. Results indicated that feed conversions of up to 30.5% can be determined for 2.5% carbon dioxide feed. Findings also showed that increases in conversions correlated with increases in the input voltage and decreases in flow rate.

Multiple-scattering EXAFS analysis of tetraalkylammonium manganese oxide colloids

Article Abstract:

Extended absorption fine structure calculations were performed to analyze colloidal tetraalkylammonium (TAA) manganese oxide systems in combination with suitable fitting routines. Two series of TAA manganese oxides were studied, one prepared with tetrapropylammonium (TPA) and the other with tetraethylammonium (TEA). Small differences observed in the bond distances between the TPA and TEA series imply a discernible structure-influencing effect of the two TAA cations.

Effects of water, cations, and structure on energetics of layer and framework phases, NaxMgyMnO2.nH2O

Article Abstract:

Research designed to measure the enthalpies of formation for three series of synthetic manganese dioxide samples with systematic variations in their chemical compositions is presented. It is concluded that the hydrated layer and framework MnO2-based materials are stable with regard to binary oxides plus H2O.
