Electron attachment to NO in supercritical ethane

Article Abstract:

The electron attachment to NO in supercritical ethane at 33, 37 and 47 degrees Centigrade is investigated. Results showed sharp increases in electron attachment rates at all temperatures. These increases occur as the pressure increases. Moreover, large negative activation volumes are found for electron attachment. The activation volume is due to the electrostriction of the ethane by NO-.

Properties and reactions of charged species in nonpolar supercritical fluids

Article Abstract:

The properties and reactions of charged species in supercritical fluids are highlighted and the techniques of pulse conductivity and transient absorption are used to follow the behavior of charged species. The free energy changes in electron attachment-detachment equilibrium reactions decrease rapidly at pressures where the compressibility maximizes.

Surface activity of lysozyme and dipalmitoyl phosphatidycholine vesicles at compressed and supercritical fluid interfaces

Article Abstract:

The surface activities of lysozyme and dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) vesicles at aqueous/compressed fluid interfaces are examined through high-pressure interfacial tension measurements using the pendant drop technique. The surface pressures infer pressure-dependent morphological changes within the DPPC monolayer.
