Ems Syntech GmbH, a subsidiary of Swiss Ems Chemie Holding AG, received three orders worth altogether DM 12mn. Swiss For Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Grenzach-Wyhlen, Ems Syntech will modify a production plant for vitamin B1 to increase the capacity. Production will not be interrupted during the conversion phase. Also for Roche, Ems Syntech will provide the mechanical design for the modernisation of the vitamin C production line. The third contract comes from BASF and comprises the turn-key construction of an ethylene carbonate/propylene carbonate plant in Ludwigshafen within 12 months' time. *

German Krupp Uhde GmbH, Dortmund will supply a fertiliser granulating plant worth DM 24mn to Z.A. Anwil AG of Wlociawek, Poland. The contract comprises engineering, equipment and commissioning of the plant, which is to go into operation in April 2000. The granulating plant will be integrated in Anwil's existing fertiliser complex and have a daily capacity of 1,200 tons of ammonium nitrate or 1,500 t of calcium ammonium nitrate. *

Article Abstract:
German Krupp Uhde GmbH, Dortmund will supply a turn-key aromatics plant with an annual capacity of 700,000 tpy to BASF Antwerpen NV by the year 2000. The order comprises all engineering work, the supply of equipment and services, construction and assembly work. The plant is based on Krupp Uhde's Morphylane and BASF's Selop process. The high-purity aromatics are to be used for the production of styrene and polystyrene.
