Evidence for second-order optical nonlinearity in gamma-ray induced partially cross-linked polyacrylonitrile
Article Abstract:
The first direct evidence for second-order nonlinearity in particularly cross-linking polyacrylonitrile, an abundant and flexible material that can be of immense technological interest in fabricating NLO devices is presented. The second harmonic generation (SHG) powder test was employed in order to access the preliminary information about the occurrence of second-order nonlinear effect.
