Exciton state of dynamic DNA double helices: Alternating dCdG sequences
Article Abstract:
The properties of excited states of the alternating DNA oligomer (dCdG)5.(dCdG)5, which correspond to the UV absorption band around 260 nm are studied. The dipolar coupling under goes important variations with the site and the helix geometry and the energy of the monomer transitions within the double helix is not sensitive to the local government.

Influence of conformational dynamics on the exciton states of DNA oligomers
Article Abstract:
The dynamics of the double helix affects the Frenkel excitons that correspond to the low-energy absorption band of DNA. It is deduced that although structural fluctuations reduce both the mixing between different monomer transitions and the spatial extent of the eigenstates, excitations still remain delocalized over several bases.

Fluorescence of the DNA double helix [(dA).sub.20].[(dT).sub.20] studied by fematosecond spectroscopy- effect of the duplex size on the properties of the excited states
Article Abstract:
The fluorescence of the DNA double helix [(dA).sub.20].[(dT).sub.20] was studied by fematosecond spectroscopy. It was found that the fluorescence decays are slower than those of the monomeric chromophores dAMP and TMP and the fluorescence anisotropy decays show strong wavelength dependence.
