Experimental results for photosynthetic reaction centers
Article Abstract:
The spectra of heterodimer mutant reaction centers in Rhodobacter sphaeroides has been studied through higher order Stark spectroscopy. This spectroscopic method measures the higher harmonic responses of the absorption to an AC electric field. It was observed that there is an unusually large higher order Stark effect with a rare line shape in the region around 800 nm where the chromophores absorb. This phenomenon is related to the monomeric bacteriochlorophyll and bacteriopheophytin on the electron-transfer pathway of the reaction center.

Temperature-dependent mechanistic transition for photoinduced electron transfer modulated by excited-state vibrational relaxation dynamics
Article Abstract:
The ultrafast pump-probe transient absorption spectroscopy is done to measure the temperature dependence of charge-separation (CS) rate constants in 2-methyl tetrahydrofuran (2-MTHF). The observations of the temperature-dependent photoinduced charge-separation dynamics are discussed.
