Fe/Co alloys for the catalytic chemical vapor deposition synthesis of single- and double-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs). 2. The CNT-Fe/Co-MgAl(sub 2)O(sub 4) system

Article Abstract:

A detailed Fe Mossbauer study of the Mg(sub 0.8)Fe(sub 0.2-y)Co(sub y)Al(sub 2)O(sub 4) solid solutions and of the CNT-Fe/Co-MgAl(sub 2)O(sub 4) nanocomposite powders prepared by reduction in H(sub 2)-CH(sub 4) has allowed characterization of the different iron phases involved in the catalytic process and correlation of these results with carbon and CNT contents. The higher yield of CNTs is observed for postreaction catalytic particles which form no carbide and have a narrow size distribution.

The siting of Ti in TS-1 is non-random. Power neutron diffraction studies and theoretical calculations of TS-1 and FeS-1

Article Abstract:

The first direct evidence of non random siting of Ti and Fe in TS-1 and FeS-1, nanoporous metallosilicate selective oxidation catalysts of MFI topology are presented. Findings of nonrandom siting of Fe and Ti in MFI demonstrate that there may be a relationship between the location of heteroatoms in the framework and the kinetically favorable pathways driven by the organic SDA.

A density functional study of possible intermediates of the reaction of dioxygen molecule with nonheme iron complexes. 2. "water-assisted" model studies

Article Abstract:

The structure and stabilities of various intermediates of the water-assisted O-O bond activation reaction on the MMOH(sub red) and R2(sub red) are studied using the B3LYP hybrid density functional method.
