Formation of arrays of gallium nitride nanorods within mesoporous silica SBA-15

Article Abstract:

The first growth of arrays of GaN nanorods within the channels of SBA-15 powder is described. Free-standing GaN nanorod arrays were revealed upon removal of the silica framework with HF solution while the optical characterization of the isolated GaN nanorod arrays shows a strong and sharp near band-edge emission at 375 nm, two phonon-assisted donor-acceptor peaks at 395 and 415 nm.

MnS hierarchical hollow spheres with novel shell structure

Article Abstract:

High yields of MnS microspheres with novel hierarchical structure are prepared through a simple solution method. Analyses reveal that the microspheres combine the hollow interior feature with a shell nanorod array characteristic and these features show that the novel core-shell structure has the potential for applications in photoconduction fields.

Light-emission and excited-state dynamics in Tm(super 2+) doped CsCaCl3, CsCaBr3, and CsCal3

Article Abstract:

The light-emission and photophysical properties of CsCaCl3: TM(super 2+) (1.04%), CsCaBr3: TM(super 2+) (0.48%) and CsCaI3:TM(super 2+) (0.76%) is presented. Using a single configurational coordinate approach the interplay and competition between radiative and nonradiative pathways is explained and modeled.
