Formation of gold nanonetworks and small gold nanoparticles by irradiation of intense pulsed laser onto gold nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

Laser-assisted size-reduction and network formation of gold nanoparticles were performed in pure water and in a sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) solution and the mechanisms were studied by applying optical absorption spectroscopy and electron microscopy. Results reveal that the laser-assisted size reduction and network formation of gold nanoparticles is a promising method for preparing nanoscale devices consisting of nanoparticles and nanowires with a desired size.

Formation of stable naoparticles by laser ablation in water

Article Abstract:

Platinum nanoparticles were produced by laser ablation of platinum metal plate in an aqueous solution of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The size distribution of the nanoparticles thus produced was measured to be in the range of 1-7 nm in diameter by an electron microscope, the stable platinum nanoparticles were found to be produced by this method even in pure water.

Structure and stability of silver nanoparticles in aqueous solution produced by laser ablation

Article Abstract:

Silver nanoparticles are produced by laser ablation of a metal silver plate in aqueous solutions of surfactants, C(sub n)H(sub 2n=1)SO4Na (n= 8, 10, 12, 16). The nanoparticles thus produced are characterized by electron microscopy and Uv-visible absorption spectroscopy.
