From grams to tonnes: time for a different approace?
Article Abstract:
There are various aspects in the research and development (R&D) process of a pharmaceutical company, and it is not possible for one company to provide a complete new product service. Collaboration involving inputs from different custom synthesis and process development providers is vital in R&D. ProSynth's business model, in which specialist providers work closely to maximize effectiveness, is also analyzed.

Pre-formulation: the key to succesful transition into pre-clinical development
Article Abstract:
Pre-formulation studies involve the identification of the various physicochemical properties of a drug substance to aid in the selection of the best candidate molecule in drug development. Drug solubility and drug stability are the two key parameters for the design of a formulation. The processes in pre-formulation, as well as its role in facilitating more efficient drug development, are discussed.
