GERMANY: BAYER REORGANISES LACQUERS BUSINESS
Article Abstract:
With effect from the beginning of 1999, Bayer of Germany is reorganising its activities relating to lacquers. The division LS now combines activities that used to be spread between three divisions. Thus the group can offer clients a comprehensive service. The operations employ 4,700 staff within the group and generate an annual turnover of more than DM 3bn. The products range from binding agents and polyisocyanates to organic and inorganic pigments and colours and lacquer additives. The new division is also taking over adhesive raw materials from the rubber division.

GERMANY: SCHEKOLIN TO SUPPLY CROWN BENDER

The German Frankenthal-based bottle closures manufacturer Crown Bender GmbH has signed a single-sourcing agreement with the coatings producer Schekolin AG of Liechtenstein. In order to be able to supply also the printing inks needed by Crown Bender, Schekolin has signed a cooperation agreement with the German Celle-based company Hostmann-Steinberg.
