GERMANY: BAYER BOOSTS FILMS PRODUCTION

By January 2000 Bayer AG of Leverkusen is to upgrade a third machine for the production of polycarbonate cast films, which it sells under the name Makrofol KG. The machine produces films with nominal thicknesses of 8-40 micrometres. The other two machines make films with thicknesses of 2-6 micrometres.

GERMANY: BAYER TEST FOR HPV

Article Abstract:

Bayer AG is carrying out clinical tests of a test for papilloma virus that play a role in cancer of the uterus. The test developed by genetic engineering is said to be easy to use, so that it could become a routine test at doctors' practices.
