Generation of double-layer steps on (010) surface of orthorhombic MoO3 via chemical etching at room temperature

Article Abstract:

The methods of atomic force microscopy were used to investigate X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, chemical etching of the (010) surface of flux-grown orthorhombic MoO3 single crystals. Two different increasing rates in etch pit volume are observed and the multiple-step formation can be described as a simultaneous presence of rectangular and corner etchings.

Insertion of hydrogen in protonation of alpha-MoO3

Article Abstract:

An experimental investigation on hydrogen insertion mechanism into layered solid alpha-MoO3 by creating different traveling paths for hydrogen during the protonation reaction with H2S at 152-155 degree Celsius is presented. The results viewed that hydrogen enters the alpha-MoO3 preferentially along <001> direction, although the interlayer space of this layered solid is open.

In situ XAS and XRD studies on the formation of Mo suboxides during reduction of MoO3

Article Abstract:

The reduction of MoO3 with hydrogen in the temperature range from 573 to 823 K is studied by in situ-X-ray diffraction and X-ray adsorption spectroscopy. For this the focus was placed on elucidating phase composition and evolution with time under isothermal as well as temperature-programmed reduction conditions
