Identification of iron species in Fe-BEA: influence of the exchange level
Article Abstract:
Identification of Fe species in Fe-BEA is carried out by temperature-programmed reduction with H2 or CO and Mossbauer and DRIFT spectroscopies after various pretreatments like calcinations by O2, N2O. The calcination in O2 results in Fe2O3 aggregation mainly is present as binuclear oxocations of the type [(OH)FeOFe(OH)](super 2+) with the proportion decreasing as the Fe content decreases whereas calcination by N2O, great difference is observed in the formation of different easily reduced Fe oxocations.

Photoswitching behavior of a novel single molecular tip for noncontact atomic force microscopy designed for chemical identification
Article Abstract:
A new molecule to be adopted as a tip for scanning probe microscopies (SPM) that gives a smaller radius and has potential for chemical identification in submolecular resolution is presented. Reversible switching between the trans-and cis forms is successfully confirmed by NC-AFM measurements.

Calorimetric and FTIR study of the acid properties of sulfated titanias
Article Abstract:
Titanium oxides of different surface areas were sulfated then calcined to convert the solid to a strong acid. The amount of sulfur retained by the solid and the thermal stability of the resulting sulfate are controlled by the dispersion of the initial oxide.
