In situ UV-vis and EPR study on the formation of hydroperoxide species during direct gas phase propylene epoxidation over Au/Ti-Si[O.sub.2] catalyst

Article Abstract:

The formation of the hydroperoxo species on the surfaces of Au/Ti-Si[O.sub.2] catalyst under similar conditions like the gas-phase propylene expoxidation reaction is investigated by conducting in situ UV-vis and EPR characterization measurements. It confirmed the possible mechanism of formation of the hydroperoxo species through [H.sub.2][O.sub.2] produced from [O.sub.2] and [H.sub.2] adsorbed on the Au surfaces.

Self-assembly of gold nanoparticles induced by poly(oxypropylene) diamines

Article Abstract:

A series of poly(oxypropylene)diamines D230, D400, D2000 and D4000 having molecular weights of hydrophobic segments of 230, 400, 2000, and 4000 were used as ligands to synthesize self-organized gold nanocrystals. The gap among the nanoparticles was found to be increased with the increasing molecular weight of the hydrophobic segment of ligands, accompanied by the decreasing wavelength of UV-vis absorption bands.
