Influence of the alkyl surfactant tail on the adhesion emulsion drops
Article Abstract:
A study on emulsion films revealed that their adhesive behavior is not affected by the length of the alkyl surfactant tail. However, it was also observed that the presence of alkyl groups bound near the polar head greatly alters the adhesion. These findings indicate that the attraction is driven primarily by the molecular structure near the area of the polar head rather that by van der Waals interactions between the surfactant tail.

Effect of oil on emulsion characteristics: Manipulating the interfacial domain
Article Abstract:
Two ternary systems (water, Triton X-100, and octane or tetradecane) were investigated using freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy, rheology, laser diffraction particle sizing and pulse field gradient NMR (PFG-NMR). The PFG-NMR results could be explained as a superposition of three different types of diffusion- restricted diffusion of the oil in the droplets and free and restricted diffusion of the droplets themselves.

Effect of the tube diameter distribution on the high-temperature structural modifications of bundled single-walled carbon nanotubes
Article Abstract:
Results of a systematic high-resolution transmission electron microscopy study of the thermal evolution of bundled single-walled carbon nanotubers ( SWNTs) subjected to -4-h high -temperature heat treatment (HTT) in a vacuum at high temperatures up to 2200 degrees Celsius. Tightly packed SWNTs with a more homogenous diameter distribution (ARC) were found to exhibit a more organized thermal transformation.
