Interaction of CO with palladium supported on oxidized tungsten

Article Abstract:

Temperature-programmed desorption and photoemission spectroscopy is used to examine a model catalyst system, where palladium is deposited on the surface of a polycrystalline oxidized tungsten foil under ultrahigh vacuum conditions. The substantial reduction of molecular CO coverage induced by annealing is discussed in terms of the changes in chemical composition and morphology of the outermost surface.

A study on the formation of palladium hydride in carbon-supported palladium catalysts

Article Abstract:

n investigation on the formation and stability of palladium hydride in well-characterized Pd-on-carbon catalysts is presented using temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), selective carbon monoxide (CO) chemisorptions, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The study concluded that the stability of the hydride phase and the H:Pd ratio therein decrease as function of the percent Pd exposed.

A molecular beam study of the NO+CO reaction on Pd(111) surfaces

Article Abstract:

Nitric oxide (NO) reduction with carbon monoxide (CO) on the Pd(111) surface was studied under isothermal conditions by molecular beam techniques as a function of temperature, NO:CO beam composition, and beam flux. The results are discussed with respect to the rate-controlling character of the different elementary steps of the reaction system.
