Interaction of hydrogen with MOF-5
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted with an aim to clarify the fundamental aspects of the interactions between H2 and metal organic frameworks (MOF)-5 using the combination of infrared spectroscopy and high accuracy quantum mechanical calculations. The results conclude that MOF-5, although not showing any specific interaction site acting as a strong polarizing center has good adsorptive properties toward H2.

FTIR adsorption studies of H(sub 2)O and CH(sub 3)OH in the isostructural H-SSZ-13 and H-SAPO-34: Formation of H-bonded adducts and protonated clusters
Article Abstract:
The acidity of the isostructural H-SSZ-13 and H-SAPO-34 was investigated by transmission FTIR spectroscopy using H(sub 2)O and CH(sub 3)OH as molecular probes. The entire set of acidic sites in H-SSZ-13 interacted with H(sub 2)O and CH(sub 3)OH to give H-bonded adducts or protonated species, while in H-SAPO-34, the H(sub 2)O clusters abstracted protons from Bronsted sites to a minor extent.

A thermally stable Pt/Y-based metal-organic framework: Exploring the accessibility of the metal centers with spectroscopic methods using H2O, CH3OH, and CH3CN as probes
Article Abstract:
A study synthezised and characterized a metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Pt, Y, and 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylate (BPDC), stable up to 400 degree Celsius. The results reveal that the as-synthesized material would not suffer a permanent loss in porosity upon solvent removal.
