Local substructures of water studied by transient hole-burning spectroscopy in the infrared: dynamics and temperature dependence
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the spectral substructure of the OH-stretching band of the isotopic mixture HDO in D2O in the temperature range of 273 to 343 K. Two-color infrared spectroscopy supporting tuneable subpicosecond and picosecond pulses was carried out to examine the substructure. Experimental results indicated that the spectral relaxation associated with structural dynamics accommodated a time constant influenced by temperature.

Photochemical attachment of fluorobutyl moieties on a diamond (110)-oriented surface: a multiple internal reflection infrared spectroscopic (MIRIRS) investigation
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the chemistry of perfluorobutyl iodide on H-free and H-terminated diamond (110)-oriented surfaces by multiple internal reflection infrared spectroscopy. The study was carried out using an ultrahigh vacuum system supporting a base pressure of -1.5 x 10(super -10) Torr. Experimental results indicated that the exposure of physisorbed C4F9I to ultraviolet light influenced the chemical attachment of C4F9.
