Micellar aggregates from short-chain phospholiponucleosides: a SANS study

Article Abstract:

Small-angle neutron scattering techniques were used in studying the structure of micelles formed from synthetic phospholipid amphiphiles functionalized with complementary nucleic bases as a function of pH and amphiphile concentration. The nucleic bases are dioctanoylphosphatidyl-adenosine, dioctanoylphosphatidyl-uridine and their 1/1 mole ratio mixture. It was observed that quasispherical micelles, with 30 to 45 monomers, are formed from pure diC8P-nucleosides with an axial ratio lower than two.

Light scattering and cryo-transmission electron microsopy investigation of the self-assembling behavior of Di-C12P-nucleosides in solution

Article Abstract:

Aggregates formed from freshly prepared and annealed samples of dilauroyl-phosphatidyl-adenosine, dilauroyl-phosphatidyl-uridine and their 1:1 mixture were investigated by dynamic light scattering and cryo-TEM. It was found that the adenosine derivative and mixture formed from two complementary adenosine and uridine nucleolipids evolve during aging into helicoidal suprastructures that are formed at the expense of the wormlike micelles.

Structural investigation on the poly(vinylpyrrolidone)-water system in the presence of sodium decyl sulfate and sodium decanesulfonate: a small angle neutron scattering study

Article Abstract:

A small angle neutron scattering study on aqueous solutions, of sodium decyl sulfate (C10OS) and sodium decanesulfonate (C10S) in the presence and in the absence of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), is presented. The study determined the structural characterization and preferential interaction of the PVP toward the sodium decyl sulfate with respect to the sodium decanesulfonate.
