Modification of the nanoscale structure of the J-aggregate of a sulfonate-substituted amphiphillic carbocyanine dye through incorporation of surface-active additives

Article Abstract:

Several morphological investigations, analyzing the adsorption spectrum provide an insight in the modification of the nanoscale structures of the J-aggregate of a sulfonate-substituted amphiphillic carbocyanine dye by inducing various surface-active additives in it. The analysis reveals that the aggregates have a tendency to assemble in various ropelike bundles after being stored for weeks, as the presence of additives in the solutions leads to the formation of new type of aggregates.

Nucleation and growth mechanism of Pd/Pt bimetallic clusters in sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT) reverse micelles as studied in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

An investigation on the formation of palladium-Platinum (Pd/Pt) bimetallic clusters at the early stage within the water-in-oil microemulsion system of water/AOT/n-heptane in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is conducted. The results suggest that the reduction of Pd and Pt ions and the formation of the corresponding clusters are monitored as a function of dosage of reducing agent, hydrazine (N2H5OH).

Theoretical studies on near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure of (SO + 2O)/Cu(100)

Article Abstract:

The sulfur 1s and oxygen 1s near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra of (SO + 20)/Cu(100) are studied by the multiple-scattering cluster (MSC) method. The analysis shows that the Pi orbital breaks into two levels which shift toward higher energy due to the interaction between SO and the substrate.
